About the property

At around 3,000 metres above Verbier, Cabane Tortin makes the mountain itself the focus of a stay. This contemporary retreat stands above the Tortin glacier, with a broad glazed frontage framing an uninterrupted Alpine panorama. Its remote setting suits a carefully planned mountain experience rather than a conventional village holiday.

The main living floor brings a fireside lounge and dining space together beside the windows. An open show kitchen and a separate preparation kitchen support catered meals, while the terrace offers a place to pause outdoors when conditions permit. A sauna provides a welcome retreat after time on the mountain.

Three double bedrooms are complemented by an upper dormitory with three double or twin sleeping pods. The master has its own shower room; the other bedrooms and dormitory share bathroom facilities. The advertised maximum is twelve, although the operator recommends smaller groups for the most comfortable arrangement.

The catered package includes meals and transfers to and from the cabin, with additional activities arranged separately. Arrival normally involves a tracked vehicle or helicopter; guided skiing or touring options depend on ability and conditions. Ski access is advanced and involves mountain terrain. This is an exceptional base for experienced mountain travellers who want seclusion, dramatic scenery and a fully organised stay above the resort.

Sleeping & living spaces

Main level: master double with fireplace and private shower; two further doubles share a shower room. Upper level: six-person dormitory in three double/twin pods, sharing the shower facilities below. Main lounge, dining, show kitchen, preparation kitchen, sauna, terrace and ski storage. Staff accommodation is separate. Ideal group size eight; maximum twelve subject to agreed sleeping arrangements.
